So after having to jumpstart a few cars in my lifetime, I figured that all of us needed a good review. Every single time I try to do it, I realize that I forgot how and end up having to find someone else to help me. So after a few attempts (some of them done incorrectly, ouch!), I found this video. Even if you know how, I feel like it it something that all of us should still review.

I saw that thinkgeek.com has a jumper cable that plugs into the cigarette lighters of each car. You don't have to open the hood at all. I have trouble remembering how to do it the traditional way as well.
I always thought you should hook the grounds up first so that you are grounded before you hook the hot wires up.
It's very simple... Connect both cables to one battery, goto the other car, connect the red (+) to the battery, you CAN connect the remaining cable directly to the battery, but you'll get a small spark and that COULD light the hydrogen gas the battery produced. You're supposed to connect the last (-) terminal to the frame, but honestly I just connect right to the battery anyhow. If I were in a garage or closed area, I might do otherwise.
